Contest Regulations

Festival opening is on 1st March 2009.
Deadline for the receipt of films is on 21st August, 2009.

Festival Jury will select 20 films for each of the Contest sections.

Only the first three films in each of the Sections will be awarded. The Jury nominate the film with regard to the mastership level of the work and its contents. The Festival is not thematically limited. The nominated films will be placed on site azyl.sk from 8st September, 2009 in the individual sections. Each of the site visitors has a possibility to judge the film by sending sms message till 25th november. In December 2009, after summarization of the votes, the film creators of the winning films will be presented on Internet with their crew on the day of the Festival awards announcement on the Internet. All of the nominated films will be put in their full quality on DVD: AZYL – Compilation of the 1minute's and 5minutes' films.

The Ten Commandments of the Contest films sections.

1. submission is enabled to any citizen of the European countries without age limit

2. film sent to the Contest must not run over one or five minutes, film must be completed not late than in 2006

3. Contest is open both to film professionals as well as amateurs

4. the contestant is under the strict obligation to fill in the Entry form according to the truth

5. the contestant is obliged to send his/her film to 21st August, 2009

6. It is strictly prohibited to use a music piece in your film without its authors permission and agreement and you are fully responsible for the possible breaking the copyright laws

7. film may be presented before also in other film festivals

8. each film director may send 3 films at maximum to each of the sections

9. film may be a fiction, animation, experiment or a musical clip

10. film has to be sent in one of the following formats: avi, mov or DVD video (PAL) in resolution 768x576 or 720x576 pixels on 72 dpi, uncompressed or dv-pal kompression, 25 frame per second, 48khz sound on a CD or DVD carriers, to the address:

The nominations will be officially announced on 8st December, 2009.
The Jury decision is final and no appeals against it are accepted.
